Commissioners Extend Uranium Mill Permit

In the event that Uranium Milling and Mining makes a comeback, Montrose County Commissioner voted to extend the expiration date by four years of the Pinon Ridge Mill Facility Special Use Permit. The dormant facility on the west end of Montrose county is owned by Montrose-based Piñon Ridge Resourses Corp.,headed by George Glasier.


The once thriving uranium industry has been stymied by regulatory policy and litigation from the environmental lobby in recent decades. According to Glaiser the USA is the largest consumer of Uranium in the world
